Historic Districts Council
I had the opportunity to work on the rebranding of the Historic Districts Council (HDC) in New York, an organization dedicated to preserving the city’s architectural and cultural heritage.
The challenge was to create a fresh, engaging, and modern visual identity that would celebrate the rich diversity of buildings that make up HDC. The approach? A generative logo system—dynamic and ever-evolving, much like the city itself—paired with bold, vibrant colors to reflect inclusivity, energy, and the living history of New York’s neighborhoods.
By blending tradition with a contemporary aesthetic, this rebrand aimed to honor the past while embracing the future, making preservation feel more accessible, engaging, and relevant to a new generation of city lovers.
